Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"At the end of my home renovation project, Ramos came to me with a story about having cash flow problems in his business. He asked if I would lend him $1000 or $2000 for two or three weeks to get him over the cash flow problem. Please understand that I had already spent $107,000 on household appliances and construction labor for he and his team of workers. I believed he was genuine as he had not disappointed me in any of the work that was completed on my house. His works were here everyday and finished the job to my satisfaction.

I loaned him $2,000 on March 1, 2013 and I'm still waiting to be repaid. I have emailed and texted him many times over this year-long period, and though he has occasionally responded, it has only been to delay repaying the loan. He claimed at one point that the IRS had seized his bank accounts and that his funds were tied up with that issue.

Though he had originally promised to pay me back with interest, I only want the principal amount that he borrowed, $2000, and I'll gladly move on. As a result of his dishonesty, I have not referred him to others who have inquired and asked for references for reputable contractors. He has proved to not be so reputable after all. There seems to also be an issue with his current contractor licensing that I learned later on."
