Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I have been a customer since the store opened I have a cockatiel bird which I have them board.
I have this bird with them for 3 years. I have paid from $3 a day to $4 dollars a day. Now in Sept I left the bird with them when I came back to pick up the bird they charged me $8 dollars a day explaining that the rate went up. I wasn't told when I left the bird that the rates would be up. Not only that when I got home I had to reclean the cage the Perch was unclean and I had to wash and clean it off. I have left several messages to have them call me back but they never did. My complaint is that $8 dollars a day is double what I paid in May. It is a ridiculous amount to pay for one cockatiel bird."

  • If someone boards so regularly at a groomer/pet shop I would think the owners would look up their past history and then inform the valued customer of any price changes. If not, they ought to stand by their old rates if the customer complains.
The customer is ALWAYS right, IF you want to remain in business, in this area!
I am so glad I read this before I went to their store again. I have shopped there before, but just now, I had been looking for grooming services and could not get a "working" phone number. When I googled their store name, this complaint came up.
Say no more. I don't want to deal with people of this ilk either.

Good luck to this person, I hope they finally get satisfaction. At least they should feel pleased that they cost the Pet Stop the grooming fees for THREE Yorkies from Surfside Beach.
Darn, they were so close too! Oh well, my dogs are probably better off anyway! I know my pocket will be too.

  • If they will not refund the difference in the fees, would you consider asking them for store credit for that amount? Perhaps this would allow them to give you the money they owe you (which you can spend there on products you would need anyway or on future boarding) and they could somewhat save face if they indeed made an error in not telling you about their rate increase. Also, if you do intend to use them again for any services, my suggestion is to ask for their terms of boarding in a written format. That way you know exactly what you are getting and paying for and if there is any discrepancy, you have the document to use to bolster your claim.
