Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I bought a new battery and it no longer works. I called and they said can I swap or exchange my battery for a new one. Like its said 2 year limited warrant on battery. they said its the alternator when the machine to test it is wrong. The machine said good battery when its low on power. I would like a brand new battery be put in. Toyota dealership said it's the battery has to be replaced and they can't finish the diagnosis unless a brand new battery gets relaced"

  • You should take a look at the limited warranty that you were provided when you bought the battery. I did some research on this, and if the alternator is in fact at issue, then the battery could be a good battery, just not being charged by the alternator. In that situation, the alternator should be inspected, because it could be at fault, rather than the battery. The battery could be low on power because it is not being charged by the alternator. Perhaps Toyota has a different way of running a diagnostic test on this, based on the machine reading that the battery is okay.
