Claimant says:
"The water company told me that my water meter was running when no one was home, also my
water bill was higher than normal. I called One Call Plumbing and the person that showed up done
some repairs on both toilets.(replaced fill valves and floppers, master bath needed new supply line)
My water pressure has changed and the main toilet sometimes runs more than it should. I called
One Call Plumbing, they came, did not check anything, told me I still have good water pressure and
the repair that was done could not have changed water pressure. I got very upset, thinking that just
because I'm a woman that they didn't care about my complaint. They left refusing to do anything.
My total repair was $242.32. That's a lot of money for me and I'm not happy with repair or their
response."

  • Here is her contract #7303 dated 9/21/15. Please note that at the bottom of the contract we request that customers sign if they are satisfied with the work. She signed it when the work was completed - indicating that she was satisfied.

    We replaced the fill valve and flappers in all of her toilets (2 or 3 toilets) and also replaced a supply line in the master bath toilet. In order to perform inside plumbing work in WV, a company has to be licensed by the state and we are. If she didn't want to spend any money, she shouldn't have called a Plumbing Contractor. For all of that she was charged a $65.10 service charge, $95.00 for labor, $68.50 for parts and $13.72 in Sales Tax.

    That's very reasonable, especially considering that when she called in on 9/18/15 at 12:14 PM, she stated that she had a water leak, a high water bill and was unsure of the source. The call log is attached. So part of the charge was determining what was malfunctioning in the house. Ms. Sanders is wanting money back; however, there are no grounds for a refund of any monies. Simply deciding 9 months later that you could use some extra money does not give a person the right to file a bogus claim against a company. We are a family owned company. There should be a website where contractors can warn other businesses about customers. To claim that by stopping the water loss & high water bill by replacing the "guts" in her toilets caused her to lose water pressure is definitely a fraudulent claim. She may have some build-up in her line that has now made it through to the screens of her faucets, causing her pressure to drop in some areas. But that would have nothing to do with fill valves and flappers.

  • I disagree with the explanation / grounds provided

    "This work was done over 9 months ago. We were called there because her water meter was running constantly. We provided toilet repairs, which stopped the meter from running continuously. Ms. Sanders has never called our office with a complaint, this is simply an attempt to get a refund so she would have gotten repairs done for free. No invoice from another plumbing company has been submitted, stating that our work was not up to standard. For her to claim that she was taken advantage of because she was a woman is absolutely ridiculous!! Furthermore, she just decided 9 MONTHS LATER????"
