Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"The flight itself was as advertised however this charter company essentially committed credit card fraud regarding their billing practices for ground transportation. I booked a charter flight to fly from Opa Locka airport to Great harbor cay Bahamas and ground transportation between the Ft. Lauderdale international airport and the Opa Locka charter airport for 8 people (2 cars) and I was quoted a price of $3,250 for the flight and ground transportation. One person dropped out of the trip about 2 weeks before we left and I called the charter company spoke to Michelle Perez and asked if 7
people would be able to fit in one car, I was told that we wouldn’t fit in one car. When I originally booked the charter I also asked it if would be possible for the cars to stop so we could get groceries on the way to the flight. I was told by Michelle that this wouldn’t be a problem and we would likely just need to tip the drivers a little extra.

When we arrived at Ft. Lauderdale on I mentioned that we needed to stop at the grocery store, Curtis Romero (the owner) told me then that it would be an extra $60 per car. I said that would be acceptable and we would only be taking one car to the grocery store (the second car went directly to the charter airport). We went out to the cars and they had two large SUV’s which fit 7 people besides the driver. At this time, I told Curtis that on the way back we would only need one car. We went to the grocery store and then arrived at Opa Locka Airport.

At the airport I signed the receipt for approx. $3300 and as it was more than the quoted amount I just assumed that they had added the extra $60 and we were good.

When I returned to the Opa Locka from the Bahamas, we were greeted at the airport by two cars, an SUV that fit 7 people and a town car. I asked why they had sent the town car in addition to the SUV, called Nobel Air’s office, spoke with Michelle and asked for a refund of $125 on the second car, and all 7 of us got in the SUV and were transported back to the airport. A little later in the day, I went online and checked my bank statement and saw an additional charge for approx. $400 that had been applied to my card (while I was still in the Bahamas). I was incredibly confused as to why it had been charged as I had never been quoted this amount at any time, I never signed a receipt, and I never gave permission for it to be charged to my credit card. I called Nobel Air the next morning, spoke to Curtis and asked for an explanation for the charge. I was told that it was for the additional time in the car. I asked for an itemized bill accounting for the cost and was told that I wouldn't be provided with any documentation. I also never received a refund for the extraneous car that was provided to us."
