Claimant says:
"He power-washed our house this month, the first part of June 2012 and we mentioned we wanted to enlarge our patio and he said he was an expert at that & had done several that turned out beautiful and would and could do this. He suggested doing our flower beds with trim and stone. ect.
So we had him write up an estimate and the next day he quoted $4900.00 and needed $3000.00 up front to buy supplies and would start the next day. So we agreed. In the middle of working on the patio, he said he needed money for more supplies to do the flower beds, we gave him a check for $500.00
They did a horrible job on the concrete, hand mixed the cement with a portable mixer (TERRIBLE). Had a 19 yr finish it, but we stupidly paid him $1900.00 balance at the end of the week, so he could== per se= pay his guys. Those guys worked their hearts out, But we were sick with disgust, made him break it up on Monday Morning and then he wouldn't remove the broken cement until we threatened him with a lawyer and for a week, we had to look at broken cement, then after several phone calls he sent 3 guys out to move it from our back yard to the front driveway and we have to hire someone to get rid of the broken concrete. And this is where we are. We paid him $1900.00 after the concrete was poured so he could make his payroll, he said, and on Monday they would be back to clean it up and make it Beautiful. We Paid him a total of $5400.00 and are sitting here looking at a black hole in the backyard. We were Scammed big time."

  • We know we will never get our money back but we would be willing to settle for one half the loss and call it : A BIG AND HARD LESSON LEARNED .
    ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK WHEN YOU HIRE SOMEONE TO DO SOMETHING FOR YOU AND ONLY PAY SO MUCH UNTIL THE JOB IS COMPLETED RIGHT. CAN'T TRUST ANYONE ANYMORE. SAD COUNTRY WE LIVE IN.
