Claimant says:
"We contracted with them to move our house items from Michigan to South Carolina. Our contract clearly states the containers to be moved, including create sizes. They contacted with Most Valuable Movers Inc. out of Linden, N.J. to handle the move. The movers showed up at our Michigan house on the day the move was to happen. The lead mover stated he would need to contact his manager due to the size of 2 creates and one skid. The manager, via phone stated they would need to add a bulk charge of $1200.00 to do the move. I advised him to check our contact which clearly spelled out the sizes. He would not handle the move (we did get them to deduce to $750). His driver along with myself measured the items and the result was one create was 2" longer than shown and the other was 2" shorter. The skid size was exactly as stated on the contract. This driver confirmed back to manager the measurments, but he refused to make the move if we did not agree to pay. We did since we had to be out of the house that day, but noted on the bill that it was paid under duress. The driver also went of the driveway and required a tow truck to get out. We paid $80.00 for this error.
The complaint being directed to National Moving Group is due to the fact they were who we had a contact with and they were involved during this issue and stated they could not fix the problem (they did get the mover to reduce the cost to $750). The issue is they breached the contract we had with them and should reimburse us the cost of $830 ($750 - bulk add on - not part of contact and $80 tow truck cost). Copies of communications and contract can be supplied on request.
