Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I purchased a kitchen table that is completely scratched on the surface. The scratches began occurring within 2 months of purchase. I contacted Midwest Furniture Liquidators, the manufacturer (Steve Silver Company) and the company I purchased an "extended warranty" through (Montage Furniture Services). I am being told that there is nothing they will do as this is "normal wear" and this is not covered!! If this is there stance, this means that the furniture I purchased is garbage! I have never owned a piece of furniture that looks this bad and it is only months old!"

  • The information below is exactly what the issue is! It states that as a business they work to help resolve the issue -- what has been done to resolve the issue?? Stating that this is "normal ware" for a kitchen table??!! It can't even be used without scratching! I have never owned such a terrible product and have never had such terrible response from a company not standing behind the product they sell!

  • We have taken all necessary actions required to work with the customer about the table. Customer signed the contract of the invoice stating,-- " Due to the nature of this liquidation business all sales are final. For any damaged or missing parts of any product sold, delivered or picked up, customers must report within one business day of receiving or picking up their merchandise." Customers reported it 3 weeks after initial delivery, Yet we still worked with the customer to help fix the problem. We provided extra services to make the customer happy.

  • I strongly discourage people from making a purchase at Midwest Furniture Liquidators. I believe "all sales are final" means items cannot be returned. However, I NEVER would have thought that a product of this poor quality would be sold and then not serviced to try and fix the VERY poor quality! The one time they provided service, it was for a chip on the table from delivery. The scratches on the top of the table are a different issue. Nobody has ever come out to look at this problem! They have made all determinations by pictures!
