  • 11-17-2009 — car painted 1rst time 11/17/09 to 11/19/09
  • 07-13-2010 — car returned on warranty(5yr.) to be completed by 11/15/10 bubbles and large chips falling off.
  • 07-16-2010 — picked up the car 5:30 P.M. nothing at all had been done.
  • 07-19-2010 — Return car again, 7/22/10 go to pick up car, the paint had no shine at all, it was getting worse. 7/23/10 car painted once more. This time large dull spots & total orange peel plus interior dash, seats, steering wheel and shifter had been over sprayed. Also the chrome valve covers, air cleaner, alum. intake manifold, radiator and chrome tailpipe ends even the drive shaft and the wheel rims had been over-sprayed. Scott Jeffery franchise owner and original estimator on vacation. Take car home to embarrassed to go to old car rally.
  • 07-26-2010 — Mr. Jeffery back from vacation agrees to meet on this date. I bring my wife with me to help keep me calm, as this car 1965 Chevelle Malibu with leather seats, beautiful engine work and lacking only in paint, was being destroyed before my eyes. Mr. Jeffery agrees that it is a horrible paint job and to have as much over-spray as there is not the quick turnaround, state of the art materials & craftsmanship Maaco advertises. He says he will repaint not only the car but will also paint metal under hood, clean all over-spray, paint inside door jams and remove a small dent from roof. We explain that we leave for our vacation on 8/8/10 return on 8/17/10, with a car show we had already paid entrance for. We are told no problem, bring the car in on 8/2/10 to be completed by 8/5/10. Feeling a little better we agree.
  • 08-02-2010 — Return car to Maaco and to phone on 8/4/10 for update. I call, more bad news. Again the paint was messed up but would be done by 8/6/10. Mr. Jeffery calls me at work to tell me the paint is bad again! This is the 5th time it has been painted in 9 months, 4 times in three weeks! He says he would like to keep it while we are on vacation to which I reply no way as I have lost all confidence in their skills as painters at all. He goes on to explain the problems with the paint and how "it is not an exact science". I ask him if he has tried different paint, he tells me the state of Ca. only allows them to use this type of paint. I tell him I did not mean the type but the color batch, he says "no"telling me if he were me he would leave the car till I return. Again I say no as I am afraid I will have no car to return to if left with them, he slams the phone down, hanging up on me. Trying to call back, they do not answer, caller I.D., so I have a person who works with me call. This time they answer and I have my friend tell them I am going to pick up the car, asking when this could be done, they tell me 4 P.M. When I arrive I spend one half hour trying to locate my car as Mr. Jeffry walks by me totally ignoring me. He deals with other customers finally I had it with this treatment saying I want my car now. He tells me I can not have it as it is still backing. I asked why he had told me 4P.M. he tells me because thats what I wanted to hear. He walks away back into the shop once again ignoring me as I follow behind. Then another man comes out, turns out the other partner, they both start laying into me how they did not like the way I complained in front of other customers and how I was a pain in their ass and how one painter refused to even work on car, as if the overspray and bad painting were my fault. Mr. Jeffery tells me that I was rushing them once again telling me to leave the car while I was on vac.. He then reachs for a partial beer saying to his partner ready for another. I wait for my car till 6:30 at which time I watch them glue on the letters and drop the mirror breaking it. Mr. Jeffery says I guess I owe you a mirror too and to bring the car back when I return from my trip.
  • 08-18-2010 — Mr. Jeffery leaves message on my cell phone telling me to bring in my car so they "CAN HAVE IT READY FOR THE CAR SHOW". I ignore but save that message.
