Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I contracted with LONG FENCE AND HOME (per Bob McKee) on July 7, 2014, to install a new roof and gutters. The roof was installed on July 19, 2014. The 5 Star Scope of work included (No. 18): 100% Complete Customer Satisfaction. On July 21, 2014, I called LONG FENCE AND HOME to report that my facia boards had obriously not been replaced and someone needed to come to inspect the obvious need for replacement. I called again on August 4 for an inspection. No response. I called Bob McKee (1-732-300-1876), the contractor; he said he would investigate. LONG'S called me on August 20 to inquire about my complaint. A follow-up visit was made on Aug. 21 by Jim Kinkak from LONG'S. He and my son William J. Grogan, Jr., checked the facia board and saw the unrepaired facia. Jim Kinkak promised somone would call in about 2 - 3 hours. This has not happened. Meanwhile, on August 16, 204, I responded to LONG'S Satisfaction Survey in which I cited my dissatisfaction with the unrepaired facia board. As of today, September 12, I have received no further action from LONG FENCE AND HOME.

  • The yes or no box in the contract was checked by Mr. Robert McKee, not me.
He had examined and measured the roof before listing items to be repaired. I clearly requested facia board replacement which was ignored. No certified roofing specialist would have defrauded me when the rotted wood was obvious.

I have engaged another roofer who has begin replacing the facia board. He has found flaws in the gutters on the roof and photographed the areas that can trap water rather than allow it to flow freely into the gutters. Also, the screens replaced in the gutters were not completely sucured. The roofer installing the facia board is willing to meet with a LONG representative to show him the proof of my being ripped off. I have requested LONG to come and remove their sign from my yard which they (Robert McKee) have not done as of today, Sept. 27, 2014.

What Claimant Wants Hide
Message from Claimant: The checkmark beside "no" for for the replacement of my fascia board was made by Robert McKee, not me. Since it was an essential part of the roof replacement, I have paid another contractor, Perry Robinson, the sum of $1,200.00 to replace my facia board including painting the finished surfaces.
In addition, flawed roof gutters and missing screen fasteners were were repaired. I have photos and a copy of my receipt for these repairs.
