Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"We are thinking of selling our home in Loveland, Colorado.  We need to find an apartment to move into once the sale is complete.  One of the apartment complexes we looking into is the Lincoln Place apartment in downtown Loveland.  We were shown a one bedroom apartment, but this was too small.  They did not have a two or three bedroom unit to show us; however, we did review the floor plans of both.  We liked the three bedroom unit and we told there are only 13 of these units.  We were told we could put down a $250 deposit to hold the next three bedroom unit that came available.  We decided to put down the deposit and were told we would have first shot at the next three bedroom unit that opened up.  We were later told that we could move into a two bedroom unit until the three bedroom unit became available.  If we moved into the two bedroom unit, our name would still be number one on the three bedroom wait list.  We said we may be interested in doing this; however, we wanted to see the two bedroom unit.  No were available to look at.  No formal agreement was signed to take a two bedroom unit.  We were also under the understanding that if we did, in fact, take the two bedroom unit, our name would still be number one on the three bedroom list since we have paid the $250. We waited awhile, however, we could never get a look at a two bedroom place so we asked for our money back.  They said they did not have to return our money since we agreed to a two bedroom apartment.  Our name had been removed from the three bedroom list also."

Additional Communication Between Claimant and Lincoln Place Apartments - Loveland, Co Hide
  • Jun 30, 2017, Claiming party added:
  • Each time we call the Lincoln Place Apartments, the manager, hangs the phone up on us. She does not respond to e-mails. This is an easy fix, return our money. It is possible the manager had taken the funds for herself and the company does not no about it. She is very rude and disrespectful. She has no business being in the people business. What else has she stolen from the company?

  • Jun 30, 2017, Claiming party added:
  • We believe the women we spoke with initially, Vicki, knows her boss is in the wrong; however, she cannot risk her job to help us.

  • Jul 03, 2017, Claiming party added:
  • Vickie Bauer will not answer our phone calls nor our e-mails. We cannot believe they company will not return our GOOD FAITH deposit for a 3 bedroom apartment. Actually getting a 3 bedroom apartment was a long shot at best. Please just return our money.

  • Jul 08, 2017, Claiming party added:
  • Vickie will not receive our calls. She is aware our name should have never been removed from the 3 bedroom wait list. Since our name was removed from this list, please refund our money.

  • Jul 09, 2017, Claiming party added:
  • What should one think of a company who prays on people who are on a fixed income? Initially, I wanted just the $250 back. Now I am asking for the $100 we paid for our application fee. They should repay us $350. How much longer must this go on?

  • Jul 10, 2017, Claiming party added:
  • Is it true the Lincoln Place owners give a bonus to the sales person who gets the most prospective renters to put up a $250 deposit?

  • Sep 23, 2017, Claiming party added:
  • As each day goes by the chances of us getting our money back looks bleaker and bleaker. Lincoln Place Apartments has two common thieves working in their sales department and no one has the guts to take them down. I am not sure if this venue is the correct venue to fight for this money.

  • Oct 07, 2017, Claiming party added:
  • What we have seen over the past few weeks in Florida, Texas and now Las Vegas is a true community response to a tragedy. It seems no one in Loveland will stand up to the two crooks at the Lincoln Place Apartments. How many more people will be cheated by them?

  • Oct 07, 2017, Claiming party added:
  • How can Vicki sleep at night knowing she has taken $250 had earned money from a military vet? Please Loveland Veterans: STAND UP TO THIS CROOK AND DEMAND A REPAYMENT OF OUR MONEY!
