Claimant says:
"On 11-1-12 I was told by their store management (employees) that they would be able to repair my wife's 3 carat wedding set before letting them cut it off of her finger. After doing so and paying for the repair in advance on the $45 price I was told it would cost it was sent to their jeweler (name unknown). I was told it would be back on 11-13-12. I never received a call on the 13th so I called the store for them to tell me the jeweler wanted to some extra repairs that wasn't needed and that it would cost $480, my reply was no, do only what I paid for. On 11-19-12 I called to check on the status again and to find out the store already had recieved the rings but again no one called to let me know they were there in the store and also that jeweler stated that he refused to do the repair which I paid for, to me that is very unsatisfactory."

  • What repair did you pay for and what repair did the jeweler say he/she wanted to do that you felt was unnecessary? I would love to make some suggestions so you can resolve this issue but I would love some additional information. It sounds as if they needed to charge to put the ring back together if it was cut off, aside from fixing the setting. If this is the case, I would get estimates from other jewelers to see if what was quoted is in line with the quote you were given. $45 seems low to fix a setting on a ring that also had to be cut off of someone's finger.
