Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On 10/8/13, I bought a 2005 GMC Sierra from this establishment for $15,000, sold me a warranty for 300.00, it covered 3000 miles or 3 months covering the motor, transmission and rear. I took it for a test drive and one of the workers there, Steve, went with me. We both heard a noise in the rear. They led me to believe that the warranty would cover the rear. When I got home that night with the truck, the noise got louder. I talked to their mechanic the next day, I was leaving on a short trip. He told me to take it with me and bring it back when I came home. I took it back when I returned and he installed a slip yoke. That did not fix the problem. I took it back again he said it was the ring and pinion in the rear. The warranty would not cover it because the warranty only covered 500.00, with a 100.00 deductible. The mechanic told me that that the seller knew there was a problem with that rear before I bought the vehicle. The warranty company refuses to fix it. I paid 15,000 for this truck, I do not feel I should have to put out another 1500.00 to fix this. I took it back to the mechanic and told him that I did not want the truck, gave him the keys and told him to return it to the seller. I went back to the dealership twice and both times he was not there, and I have not had a call back. The finance company has called me a few times and I told them of the situation, they gave me 10 days to try to resolve the issue with him but I have had no contact from him. All I wanted was the rear fixed, but they have given me such a hard time that I told them I do not want this truck. If he fixes it, I would gladly take it back as I like the truck but I cannot pay an extra 1500.00 and shouldn't have to."
