To Whom It May Concern:
On April 7, 2018 I signed a contract with JDP CONSTRUCTION (License# CRC016587) to have a driveway and walk way installed. The Job was $3200 with half down and the other half once finish.  I was informed by John Pietra AKA John Thomas that it would take approximately three weeks to get permit from the CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS before he could start. Based on the City of Miami Gardens the permit was not submitted until April 24, and the only way I found out about it was because my assistant went to the City after making numerous calls to John and not getting any response. I spoke to John every week after the first two weeks of signing the contract so I could be kept informed. Each time I spoke to John, he’s always going to call me back, which he never did, and always hanging up before the conversation was finished. After a week of finding out that John did not put permit in until the 24th which he didn’t do it, but someone took the plans to the city. After a week, John refuses to answer his phone to respond to me at all. After my assistant went to City to get the Permit back, because the Public Works Dept. did not approve plans. I had to do the revisions myself and my assistant took the plans back to the City for approval. It’s obvious that the man is very dishonest and stealing from people. John’s place of business at 1876 N. University #309c Plantation Fl. The main address is 15031 Saxon Cir N Davie Florida 33331.
Today is May 14, 2018 and he still has not responded to any of my calls.

    When I first spoke to John, he made a verbal commitment that he would submit for permit by Tues. the 11th. I was told it would take three weeks to get the permit back, and once he got the permit back, it would take 4 days to complete. I told John I was selling the house and I needed this to be done. He assured me that would be no problem. He told me we had plenty of time that it wouldn't interfere. John never got the permit to the city until the 24th; It was never discuss that he has 30 days to submit the permit. Had he told me that, I would have never agreed to this. If we had not gone to the city we would not have known about the changes that the city needed to the drawing. We told John about it and text him a copy of what they wanted and it was ignored. John told us that we can go and pick up the permit and write what the city wanted. After that conversation, no more communication. I never got a professional response from John because he's so busy that he didn't have time. I couldn't just wait until he got ready to converse with me, because he made me feel it wasn't important. If at any time I felt this man was dedicated to his job, this complaint would never been issued. Thanks for your concern!d your information here

  • I sent survey on 4/7/2018. John Thomas told me to send survey to (justemaillarry@yahoo.com) That is how your company got my survey the same day the contract was signed. That information is on my computer. It was sent 4/7/2018 at 1:11 PM

  • As I stated we have done nothing but followed protocol and as soon as the permit is out we will start the job. Before you print something that is not true better check the Florida codes or u could open yourself to an expensive lawsuit

  • As stated previously. We have 30 days by law to submit permit. Which we did . As soon as permit is out we will start the work once the weather allows to do so
