Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I just received a bill from the company when I have not used the credit card in 6 months or longer. They say I authorized insurance to be taken out of the card. I had a late fee on the card and then after I cancelled the insurance they charged me again. I received a bill with a past due of 21.10 and current charges of $31.65 then when I called to close card they said I owed $42.20. These companies that call you and then deduct money from your card are a fraud. I want my $42.20 back and I will no shop at JC Pennys again."

  • I would first suggest that you review you credit card agreement, to ensure that somewhere in the fine print, you did not in fact agree to the insurance by accepting and using the credit card. Most insurances associated with credit cards are connected by you agreement to use the card. If you did not in fact agree to the insurance by way of the credit card agreement, I would first request a copy of the propsed agreement concerning the insurance that would/shoud have your singature on the one page docment. If the company cannot/will not provide you with this "agreement" then I would file a formal complaint with the Fair Credit Agency within your state and the Federal Government.
