Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I explained everything in the first comment section. We were celebrating a Birthday that evening and I can't think of a more frustrating ending than the one we had to endure. Standing on the side of the road in the middle of the night was not on my list of things to do that evening as I am sure anyone else would feel the same. I was never told to sign anything agreeing to any such terms which makes me think that he does this to everyone at the end of the night thinking they are drunk and will pay whatever he says just to get home."

Additional Communication Between Claimant and Hummers Of Vail Hide
  • Nov 15, 2012, Hummers of Vail (responding party) added:
  • Unfotunately when people DRINK excessively they forget the facts.

The rate was $101/hr and would have been $707 total but they did not want
the cost of the vehicle with them. The choose the 2hr min each way = $202 each way or $404 round trip.

Unfortunately when we picked them up for the return (having collected no funds for the pickup) they refused to pay the $404, so the driver followed company policies and called the police. They finally offered the $202 for the pickup and then with the Police's assistance, tried to also pay the $202 for the return.

At that time the Driver did not feel comftable takign them back, so the police called two taxis that charged over $100 each, making them wait over an hour becuase it was at the bar closing time. THis is why our rate of $202 in a NEW Mercedes Sprinter Van was a GREAT DEAL and why they originally were very happy with the rate because they had told us that the last time they came to Vail they had to wait a very long time for a taxi and it was a very unpleasant experience - old ratty minivan.

When people Drink they need to be responsible, and they can not threaten or make the drive feel in such a way that he needs to stop at the next exit and call the police.

Thank You again for the opportunity to explain our side

What Claimant Wants Hide
1. Refund: A full refund of what we paid them Aug 31, 2010 $200.00
2. Time we waited on the side of the road and had to pay 2 other taxi's $200.00 Aug 31, 2010 $200.00
Cash total : $400.00

  • Geez "David Vail" thats a very concerning statement that Luxury Mountain Transport is a "dishonest competitor who broke every rule, had 3-4 accidents in his 1st year and finally closed" First of all Johnathan or David if you want to be called that, your company is the 1 that has the horrendous reputation in the valley!! Your company is the one that is under fire here not mine!! Google searches show the type of business you run! Simply put buyer beware. Your company has many PUC violations!! Period. Were not out of business we simply shut down our car service during this years (2014) summer! We are going to start running cars the beginning of December so thanks for the encouragement to provide a true and Great car service and don't worry we will gladly acccept all the customers you often rip off! We do not have any bad statements made about us online just positive feed back so for everyone that reads this compare service/prices. Any statements made this year about doing damage to our cars in exchange for lower priced rides will be recorded and then prosecuted. Thanks again for the chance to fire off on you Mr. Levine. And just to clarify there was 1 single accident our first year as for Hummers you have had many over the Ten years So don't even go there other or if you like in a open forum i will expose you for what you are! So now your well informed! Thanks again.

  • Wow - just say this guy Steve - he was a dishonest competitor who broke every rule, had three or four accidents in his first year and finally closed - there is a reason Hummersofvail is still in business for 10 plus years - follow the rules and safety first - ZERO ACCIDENTS and ZERO TOLLERANCE for drunk stupidness

  • We do not recommend Hummers of Vail or the several other names they operate under......I wonder why......What we recommend is you do a google search on really any company while visiting the Vail Valley and Eagle county Regional Airport/ DIA Denver. Do A search on Jonathan Levine Hummers of Vail! You will see how he was arrested for frauds and read closely and it was officiers Botching things for the DA and so forth but said they left the case open for future possible prosecution.....I have direct relation to a local Limo company and highly recommend calling luxury mountain Transport (us) and several others like high mtn taxi or 476-taxi... theres also blue sky limos there priced slightly higher by $2-$4 more i think. There is Avanti limos Just kinda check around and again due a search on all of us as transit limo owners and report bad and great service so others can aware of how our businesses are being run by our drivers and staff and seen by our customers. I might ask an attorney what legal rights you may have as well. Once again we are Luxury Mtn Transport or L.M.T due a search on us all, keep us honest by word of mouth and blogs....

  • Hummers of Vail are in my opinion very crooked!! I am truely sorry for your dealings with this company! He does give a blackeye to Vail's image but there are other options that will honor there pricing and not mislead buzzed guest. I would like to just mention to anyone who reads this posting stay clear of this company and look at other companies providing these same services with more taste like a uniform or appropriate language from the owner himself. There are other hummer companies that provide as well as cadillac, sprinter van and h2 vehicles and real limo's. Just check around to any other company and plan your night with them and when you book/pay in advance you would probably pay less ten what you will with HUMMERS OF VAIL (H2 AND SPRINTERS HAVE VICTORIA BEER GRAPHIC!) He might be trying to hide his past by this gaudy antic. Best of luck getting any money back from Jonathan Levine owner/operator.

  • I know these people very well and I remember a story like this.

The really story is that they were so drunk they tried not to pay the bill.

$101 per hour for a Mercedes van to hold upto 11 people is a bargain.

They found out the hard way when they paid $200 for one way and then $250 times two = $500 to take two taxis home

Hummersofvail is the best ride and the best price period in vail.

To bad they had to learn the hard way how expensive the taxi is
