Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I had an expensive repair done , my car stalled 14 months later same problem (fuel pump) the work was warrenteed for 3 years , not knowing it was the same issue I had it towed to the nearest shop after paying $875.00 I attempted to collect on the warranty for some kind of consideration, George said call the warranty co. They told me to call George. Then George told me to have the shop that did the work the time to return the part, how can you return a part you didn't buy! seems to me George should be doing that so I can at least get the money back for the defective part !!!"

  • Mr. Olsen's fuel pump had an extend warranty of 3 years 36,000 miles. This warranty is a purchased policy that George's Complete Auto has through the parts supplier.
The parts suppler warranties the part. Without the part, there is nothing I can do to get the part warrantied.
This is one really good reason it is so important to find one repair shop and stay with them. Jumping from shop to shop, it is hard to know who did what.
Even so,we report our repairs to CarFax. Any repair shop could have found that we put a fuel pump in 14 months ago and referred Mr. Olsen back to us for warranty.

We purchased a warranty on the parts and labor we provided.
The company should not have had you call me.
I know they won't cover the part. That would have been covered by the part supplier.
They should have worked with you on the labor.
If you want, I can call them and try to get them to help you out?
I would need both copies of work orders.

    Let me know,

    George
