"Problems encountered with 2010 Chevy Equinox

Observation: Manual states should be able to go a year with out changing the oil. It does not state that oil will evaporate. I have just checked the oil and it is registering half way down the dip stick.
*** I love my vehicle, but I prefer to have a different vehicle due to these problems. ***

when oil was added by Mike Anderson technician.

10/06/11 25504 in out 25515 oil loss use of vehicle lost for 5 days, used 2.6 qts of oil in 1,417 10/11/11 miles, dealer replaced valve cover, soaked all 4 cylinders with top engine oil, removed spark plugs soak cyl & reinstall plugs ...
Customer received a printed copy of 2011 Engine oil Consumption Guidelines with highlighted in yellow that a quart of oil every 2000 miles is an accepted rate of oil consumption.
My car is already beyond this guideline. ** We never received a recall or the fact that this car will require carrying a supply of oil with you each time you travel. ** If this is the case it should have been disclosed before we purchased the vehicle.

There is no way a customer can afford this kind of maintenance after the warrantee runs out along with the loss of use of the vehicle.

If all the 2010 Equinox vehicles are having the same problem I am having, they all should be recalled.

I need a vehicle that is operational under regular driving conditions and able to travel at posted speed limits without having to constantly add oil and having valves, cylinders spark plugs changed.
