Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I have a 2007 Kia Optima with 98000 miles. The engine is bad. They have a 100,000 mile warranty, but refuse to honor it. They NOW claim I needed to keep ALL maintenance records. When I spoke to one of their technitians he said so many people had bad engines they had to change the policy to require the records.

Now KIA USA says I have to pay to see what's wrong with the engine before they will even look at it. They won't even give me the cost of a new installed engine. They estimate it could be anywhere from $3000 to $6000.

I believe the engine should replace the engine at no or little cost to me."

  • We do not administer the Manufacture warranty polices or procedures. You have spoken with the Manufacture of this vehicle on two different occasions, KIA is denying your repair. Dutch Miller Kia is NOT refusing to repair the vehicle. If you have a problem with what is or is not covered under the Manufacture warranty you should lodge your complaint with them. We will no longer discuss this matter. If you wish to speak with a sales person about trading it in on another vehicle our sales staff would be happy to speak to you @ 3047362600

  • As a Mediator and since Dutch Miller Kia has offered to allow you to trade the vehicle in for a second vehicle, I would suggest that maybe you might at least go talk to them and see what they might offer you as a trade-in offer. Reading what you have posted in regards to the problem, I cannot state that Dutch Miller Kia is actually the responsible party for ensuring the enforcement of the warranty as far as the motor is concerned. If there is a third-party warranty company involved, then you might want to consider contacting them and seeing just what they might offer as a possible solution.
