Claimant says:
"Dunn Rite was hired by me on Saturday, July 12, 2014 to repair a leaking skylight in a second floor bathroom. I was advised by one Archie Wanko, that not just the skylight but the entire roof was in need of repair or replacement. I gave him a check for $5000 as preliminary payment.

On Sunday July 13, Wanko showed up with a crew of seven and started the restoration work, for which he received another check for $3800. On the 16th of July he returned for a final cleanup and recover unused supplies. He demanded and received another check $5200 for a total of $14000.

Since he did not have a 30 foot extension ladder, his access to the roof was through a roof hatch on the second floor. This made quite a mess on the stair and floor carpet.

He had promised to send photographs of the work and a copy of a twelve year warranty.
The warranty arrived but not the photos. I started calling but I could only leave messages, the calls went unanswered. The skylight leak reappeared and caused me to call again seeking warranty help, these calls were not returned. The addresses listed on the warranty turned out to be parking lots in strip malls, so a trip to an office was out of the question.

As chance would have it I tried the 888 number to see if I could get through, I did and left a message. On Tuesday 10/7 Archie Wanko called and said he would like to come out and inspect the roof. It took two months to get a reaction so I encouraged him to come so that I could confront him personally with the fact that I had hired Lindholm Roofing to correct the terrible work he left behind. He responded that he would arrive between 2 & 3pm Thursday 10/9.

When I related this to several people I was urged not to let them into the house without proper protection, which I arranged with a neighbor. It was nearly 4pm and getting dark when I received a phone call advising me that they were on their way. I told him not come and why. Shortly after, I received a call from a Jonathon Wanko who identified himself as Archie’s father and he was calling from Addison IL He wanted to know why I would not see Archie and I told him I would not see him unless he was prepared to provide a refund to recover my expenses in repairing the shoddy work and damages they had caused. He said he would discuss it with Archie and call me on Monday the 13th. There was no call."
