  • I feel your pain! I too am a long time DirecTV customer. I went through a similar frustrating scam experience when they offered 3 months of Starz, Showtime for $8.95 per month. But, their statements each month was much higher. KInd of a bate and switch. I did finally get it resolved, but I had to be persistent.

    May I suggest that when you call, be prepared to hang up if you are not getting anywhere with the customer support person. THEN call back right away and continue doing this until you get an customer support who takes care of the issue quickly. It usually takes me 4 to 5 tries before I get what I want. Be patient when you call back each time and just hang up if they are not acting in your best interest. Try, Try, Again. That does work sometimes. The TV quality is good, but the customer service REALLY sucks!
