Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I purchased car insurance through Coverhound in July 27, 2015. The insurance agent informed me over the phone that I had the option to do Autopay for lower prices, and I said Ok I can try it, and he told me I have to go onto the website to do an electronic signature to authorize payment and policy/contract. I never authorized automatic payments with a signature, and the agent used the debit card that I made a first payment to collect payments without my authorization. I called Coverhound to find out why they were taking unauthorized payments from my account when I didn't electronically sign to give them permission to do so. Representative told me that because I told the agent that I would try Auto pay they could take out payments without an authorized signature. I am sure that this is unethical and would like for consumers to be aware that Coverhound takes information that you give to them and does unauthorized transactions without their customers permission or signatures. I am aware that people are bound by contracts and signatures as I was informed by the agent named Kevin Rose that I needed to electronically sign first."
