Claimant says:
"My daughter & I stayed at the Comfort Inn in Blytheville, Arkansas for one night. I was helping her move from Wisconsin to Little Rock, Arkansas for her new job at a hospital there. I rented a non-smoking room. I do not smoke although my daughter does. I went outside with her to smoke and we stood near the main doors of the Comfort Inn because it was dark outside and we were near a busy truck stop. We both noticed how the ladys at the front desk were watching us through the glass doors. After her cigarette we walked past the front desk to get back to our room. She only had one cigarette that night and one in the morning when we again went outside the front doors. She did not have any cigarettes in the room. We are not the type of people who would lower ourselves to that level. When I got my charge card statement I noticed they charged me an extra $300.00. I called to talk to them about the $300.00 charge and they told me it was for smoking in the room. They said the room smelled like smoke. I said that's not possible, I went outside with my daughter when she smoked. I disputed the charge with my charge card co. and the charge is not reversible. Then I remembered the ladys at the front desk who were watching us through the glass doors that night. I beleive they trumped up the idea that they could tack an extra $300.00 onto my charge card and claim we were smoking in the room. It makes me wonder where that $300.00 actually went. Was it in their pockets? I don't understand how they can get away with this. I'm 61 years old and live on disability alone. I can't afford $300.00 for nothing. This has to be against the law. Isn't this fraud?"
