"We have been battling Carnival Cruise Lines since DAY 1 (ONE) of our cruise and I find it simply despicable that a Company whose motto is: “Fun for all, all for fun” can have the sort of customer service and simply ILLEGAL behavior on your part!
From Day 1 (ONE) of the cruise I brought up the fact that we had a page printed out from “MY BILLING” that CLEARLY shows that we had paid: $2,501.18 for our cruise. The cruise ended up totaling $1,843.18, with a booking CREDIT of: $658.00. We only received shipboard credit of: $158.00. I brought up to the business crew in the Lobby Office that we were missing $500.00 in shipboard credit. They advised my husband and me that they would look into it and get back to us within 24 Hours.
On Day 3 (Three) THEY HAD NOT CONTACTED US! It was 48 Hours later and I went back to the Lobby Office and inquired where my $500.00 shipboard credit was. They told us they were still looking into it, and we might want to contact our cruise planner: Errol Chung of Carnival Cruises, to inquire about it. We then needed to log onto the internet, spend OUR TIME, and OUR MONEY, on OUR CRUISE to write an email to him, doing THEIR JOB, and sending one to customer support, which in turn COST US $81.20 in internet charges with all the different emails that had to be sent, when we had NO INTENTIONS of touching the internet while supposedly on a relaxing vacation, which up until now, had become very stressful since NO ONE at the Lobby Office was capable of READING the billing page to resolve a simple request for shipboard credit! We even asked for a Manager, but EVERYBODY at the desk stated they were Managers, and could resolve or look into our problem, WELL THEY WERE NOT! They even REFUSED to admit that the Captain was Boss of the Ship! (we were on the Magic, it as not Magical).
We started talking to many people onboard that were also havening problems getting their shipboard credits ranging from $50.00 to $1,000.00 dollars! Amazing what a scam you folks have going on, as we discovered that Carnival had to put up a $50 Million Dollar Bond just back in May or June of this year with the State of Texas before Carnival could sail on a Sunday afternoon. My guess is You Guys are trying to pay off the huge interest on that money (as we all know, no Company would have that sort of cash on a Sunday, when Banks and Stock Market are closed).
At the end of the cruise, it had NOT GOTTEN SOLVED YET, and in fact an EXTRA $22.00 was charged onto our credit card, which wasn’t even on the Bill Invoice, and NO WHERE was there an explanation for the $22.00 dollar charge??? This is ILLEGAL! Taking money with NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY????
On the Drive Home from Texas, to Calif. the “fun” CONTINUED! Carnival CONTINUED to Charge our Credit Card, as if it were their own! Four (4) MORE charges wound up on the credit card totaling $474.95!!! NO EXPLANATION, NO EMAIL, NO INVOICE, AND AGAIN STRAIGHT UP ILLEGAL AS WE DID NOT INCURE THESE CHARGES!!!! This in turn made our account Bounce automatic allowed charges, between the other monies Carnival OWED US, and charged us, and made us INCURE because of their INCOMPETENCE and THEFT of Funds.
This caused us to have eight (8) bounce fees for $272.00, which would not have happened if we had:
• Gotten our $500.00 shipboard credit as promised from Carnival Cruise Planner Errol Chung
• Not had to go onto the Internet to do Customer Services’ work for $81.20
• Not been charged and EXTRA $22.00 at the end of the cruise with NO EXPLANATION
• Not continually charged on our credit card to the tune of $474.95 AFTER the Cruise was over
ALL OF THIS ADDING UP TO $1,078.15 IN WHICH WE FEEL WAS STOLEN FROM US!!!
The Bank has seen the Original Invoice in which we should have gotten the $500.00 shipboard credit, and agrees with us, has seen the $22.00 and agrees with us, and stopped the charge of $474.95.
As of the Letter of Demand of November 27, 2012 in which we have been completely ignored:
We were asking for:
• $500.00 of our booking monies back.
• $ 81.20 internet charges back.
• $ 22.00 over charged at the end of the cruise.
• $272.00 bounce fees back.
• $ 0.09 Interest
• $875.29 total back from Carnival Cruises
However, at this point since none of the Customer Service Reps will help, our Cruise Planner will not help, and our Letter of Demand has been ignored I am now asking for TRIPLE DAMAGES of: $875.29 x 3 = $ 2,625.87. This would be not only PUNITIVE Damages, but damages done to our credit with other folks, as our credit card ended up being denied because of Carnival's continued charging and subsequant cancelling of our card and now negative balance on the account all due to Carnival's Negligence and Greed.
We had made Final payment on 04/03/2012 via Auto Pay for $2,501.18 we have been without the difference of $500.00 for 210 Days as of 11/26/12.
We have been told to go to the insurance company in order to get our funds of $500.00 back. I have NO idea why when CARNIVAL gladly took our money, Did NOT give us our shipboard credit, HAD US do their job of sending emails, CHARGED our account after the fact for $22.00 extra dollars and KEPT charging our account as if it was their own!!! The Insurance Company for trip interruption had NOTHING to do with these FRAUDULENT mattters.
We have even been contacted by a member of Carnival Cruises, in my husbands’ email threatening to sue us for some $700 and something dollars! I find this appalling and a disgusting way to get us to back off. Well, go ahead and sue us, because I would LOVE to show a JUDGE YOUR PRACTICES. CARNIVAL is the one in the WRONG here, and I HAVE DOCUMENTATION TO SUCH!!!!
I am sending a Copy of this to the State Attorney Generals of BOTH Texas, and Florida, as I want them to know of the dirty practices that Carnival is pulling.
I originally wanted this my Money $885.70, returned to us by: December 11, 2012, (14 days) from my original Letter of Demand to Mr. Arisons' office, but because of you ignoring us, I am TRIPELING the amount!
This MESS has gone on since our cruise date of: Cruise of Aug. 26, 2012 – Sept. 2, 2012, and ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!"
