Claimant says:
"I attended Capella University's PHD General Psychology Program as a graduate student from 2006 up until October of 2012 where I had no other choice but to withdraw from the University based on my own personal and professional ethics. During the 6 years I attended this University I maintained a grade point average of 3.6 my work was always completed timely (within the quarter), however, I would repeatedly receive quarterly extensions that required continual tuition payments, due to untimely or lack of faculty input. I had committee members that sat on my dissertation committee in name and paycheck only without rendering any services to the student (myself) as required by their own handbook. (a long story short) My oral defense was scheduled for Sept. 7, 2012 at 5PM EST at 4:45PM it was cancelled due to newly placed faculty member cancelling after reviewing my dissertation and approving and agreeing to oral defense. I was not given faculty I selected nor agreed to be apart of my committee. I also attended a full IRB through repeated escalation of my dissertation risk level that had been previously approved without a Dissertation supervisor, without dean intervention or support. When I filed a grievance it was not addressed timely, nor were any interventions or remedies provided. I am left without conferment of my degree and over a 100,000.00 in debt and the university has still not made any efforts to remedy the situation."
