Statement of Claim
"Started rooffing and gutter project onJune 19, 2014.. As of this date Aug. 18, still has not completef the gutters and they insisted I pay tthe 2nd half of insurance allotment to be able to do the rest of the job. I cannot get a call back from them and no valid e-mail address works. They left a nasty phone message to NOT contact them. Instructed me to contact insurance and pressue them to pay out more monies. I talked to the insurance and they informed me that "Craig" called insurance and demanded they pay out. Tried again today to call Project Managet
Chris Best w/Blackhills and discovered another titled company named Rimrock Roofing. Same address and phone nimbers and voice on answering machine forboth companies"

Additional Communication Between Claimant and Black Hills Restoration & Roofing (Billings, Mt) Hide
  • Aug 25, 2014, Black Hills Restoration & Roofing (Billings, MT) (responding party) added:
  • Becky Curtis contracted with Black Hills Restoration and Roofing for storm damage restoration to her parents home in Billings, Montana. We replaced her 3,000 square foot roof within 14 days of receiving deposit and have been paid $9,622.46 in total to date. We are still owed over $2,000 for roofing work already performed based on our supplement submitted to Safeco. Becky Curtis has refused to provide us with a copy of the final approved loss estimate from Safeco for her parents house at 907 Kale Drive in Billings, Montana. Until we receive a copy of the final approved loss estimate and full ACV payment (per the terms of our signed contract) we will not be performing any further work. There will also be NO WARRANTY for any work performed if we are not paid in full per our signed contract - ALL CLAIM PROCEEDS. If this harassment and slanderous actions continue against our company we will sue her for liable, slander and defamation. Along with any venues that proliferate her nonsense.

  • Aug 28, 2014, Claiming party added:
  • All monies have been paid out by end of June 2014. The payments were to cover roofs and gutters as per ahreements Then upon completion of all the agreed upon projects to exclude Air Conditioner..
To claim I owe more money for an incomplete agreement shows the exact type of business this company practices.

  • Aug 29, 2014, Claiming party added:
  • Blackhills will have to prove work done in value of an extra $2000.00 beyond the date June 19th. All monies issued to them was for roofs and gutters and gutters and Air Conditioning unit were not completed within 90 days. Insurance rejected their proposal for further funds to be submitted. Also insurance informed me that roofing company has no rights to access information on work NOT completef.

  • Aug 29, 2014, Claiming party added:
  • You can try to sue me for telling the truth and being honest about your company's unprofessional practices. I am more than able to take on a battle such as this and very prepared to prove my case.

  • Aug 31, 2014, Claiming party added:
  • No further work was performed beyond June 19th, 2014. Since 90 days has passef I am not obligated to the Air Condition Unit combing;, because also waited for that to be completed. Never was. Blackhills is stating they can sue for liable. I can prove the truth on malpractice of business practices, have witnesses to conversations and recordings of nasty messages left on my phone. I will further this issue by hiring an inspector to evaluate the work performed to make certain Blackhills was in code compliance. Bring on the lawsuit for my "nonsense". I have a feeling that Blackhills had no intention of issuing a warranty for their work because they had no intentions of finishing this project. There are other customers who have had trouble with Blackhills/Rimrock Roofing just like me.

  • Aug 31, 2014, Claiming party added:
  • Since Blackhills was in non compliance with their own contract , they do not deserve full claim proceeds, due to project neglect.
