Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Best Buy GeekSquad has had my laptop in for repair since july 3rd. On my last visit to the store, the computer still does not work. That was on September 7th. I have not heard from them yet. I talked with thier consumer affairs and they will not return my calls!"

  • Best Buy should respond to your complaint. Then again, look at them! Stocks in decline, CEO forced out, tons of complaints. Clearly they don't care and not responding to your complaint here shows that. Not sure what to tell you. In my view, this is a "default judgement" since best buy never responded, but not sure how you can collect. Did you try printing out this claim and taking it into their store?

    As for your core issue, its not uncommon to lose data with hard drive repairs. I'm not clear if BestBuy lost it or your drive just crashed. If the later, you can't really blame BestBuy, but they should have warned you before you dropped it off. At least you have your data. Most software providers will allow you to reinsatll for free if you upgrade or have a crash. Its a pain, but its about the only way to do it.
