The fact that I didn't contact you as soon as I noticed the refrigerator not working properly on gas does not mean you fixed it properly. I was very discourage with your shop's work, but as I stated earlier, i contacted you within 30 days of the work. Yes, a refrigerator is "essential" for camping and I used it on the electric mode at every campground which gave us refrigeration for 4 or 5 days at all the campgrounds we visited. However, during travel which was a number of days, we had insufficient refrigeration and within a few days after your repair we had no refrigeration on gas. This can only mean Arrowhead didn't fix it properly. The refrigerator didn't work properly within a few hours after leaving your shop and this says the job wasn't done correctly. Do you, Arrowhead, really believe I would go through all this trouble, if you fixed it properly? It's a shame that you won't admit that you didn't do an appropriate job - but you do know that in spite your response. I can't imagine you would treat a local customer like this if you repaired their refrigerator and it then failed to work as he was camping many miles away from your shop. The RV dealer in my home town cleaned the unit and it works perfectly. They also cleaned the stack, which your tech didn't do. So, say what you want, but you know in your heart I'm right about this quite simple issue. You say it was working when we left your shop - that is correct, but not properly. Neither of us would know it was working properly without observing it 4 or 5 hours hours after the repair work. If you are so convinced you did a proper job , then contact the service manager at Ocean Grove RV in St. Augustine, Fl and then respond again. You will find their number on the internet. If you won't do this, I'll get a copy of the invoice to you along with a written statement from the service manager. You and I know how easy it is to take your stance on this with a customer that will never return to your shop. Please do the right thing and pay the $142.00 it cost me to have the refrigerator fixed properly. I plan to register a complaint with your local BBB if we don't come to a satisfactory settlement on this.
"I am the service manager at Arrowhead RV, and have been dealing directly with this issue. Jim brought his trailer to us on June 30, 2014. We were about 3 weeks out on service appointments at that time. Due to the fact that he was passing through the area on vacation, we pushed other work back to repair his trailer in a timely manner, unlike other dealers in our area who would have told him that he had to wait 3 weeks. We repaired his refrigerator, installed a w/d hitch, installed a trailer brake control, and filled his propane. The refrigerator was cooling properly on gas when the trailer left Arrowhead RV. Jim claims that he noticed problems with his refrigerator "Three or four hours later and about 250 miles to the north". He never called. Why? He gives reasons in his complaint but we find them hard to believe. A refrigerator is a vital piece of equipment on a cross country trip. If somebody paid to have one fixed, and soon noticed that it wasn't working, they would call the place that worked on it. Why didn't he call until one month later? Alot can happen to an rv refrigerator that is being pulled across the country for a month. We weren't notified properly, we never had the opportunity to test the refrigerator after it left, and we will not be conned by a party who is using this site to try to blackmail us into paying a bill for service that we can't verify. Thank you."
