Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I was an independent transcription contractor for ANP Transcriptions, Suffern, New York, and it has become abundantly clear that they do not live up to their promises or their contract terms. I am still waiting to receive my compensation check for an invoice that I submitted for the end of November work. I have sent Larry Perrone, Production Direction along with Albert Suied, President of ANP several emails with regard to the pay they owe me.

I was supposed to be paid the week of January 7th which is 6 weeks after the submission of my invoice, per my contract terms with them. After repeated e-mails to them, I was told that the check was being sent the week of January 7th. Then I was told it was being sent out the next week. And as of January 24th, I was told by Albert Suied:

“I am sorry but the end of year and also continuing into January has been rather slow. Things are just starting to pick up and we are getting busy. .That said I am going to get payment out asap but it is hard for me to commit to a day at this time. ..We are waiting on receivables and once they come in we will process your payroll. Sorry.."

My husband called both Albert Suied and Larry Perrone today (2/20) and they continue to stall sending out my check, saying that it's a very small amount and not a priorty.

This unacceptable as I have completed and returned all work in a timely and exemplary manner. I also have another invoice for the end of December and I am sure they will have an excuse for not paying that one either. I have threatened Albert with legal action and will have my attorney file papers in Court if necessary. They owe me approximately $210, but it's not about the money. It's about accountability. I am certain that their clients have paid them long ago for the transcripts, and it is only fair that I receive payment for the work I performed.

I do not know where else to turn. In doing some independent research, there are countless individuals and complaints from other independent contractors who they also owe back wages to.

I would appreciate any help you can provide or if you can provide the name of any organization that may be able to help me."

  • ANP is in the process of paying me, however, this claim will remain open until all payments have been made and the checks have cleared. We know of other individuals who received payment via check and the check bounced. Once full payment is made to me and cleared by the bank I will consider my complaint resolved.

Furthermore, it is horrible how they have treated their contractors over so many years and still continue to do so. Albert Suied went so far as to say I made several mistakes and no other work was given to me, but in reality it was MY decision to stop doing business with them because the type of work I was given was not what the job I applied for indicated as well as my growing concern about their payment process. That conversation was held between myself and Larry Perrone, their director of production. He further indicated how annoyed he was that I had posted negative claims about them which is so appalling given what they have done to not only myself but others who work for them.

My husband had to call Albert Suied on at least 4 occasions in attempt to compel them to pay me. His last conversation with Albert Suied was on Monday, February 25 and Albert said he would be sending out the second check. As soon as I receive that check and the checks have been cleared, then this matter will be resolved. This would not have had to be taken to this level if they had just paid me on time. Waiting since November (now 3 months) for a mere $200 has been so time consuming and a great inconvenience to me.

We want to thank PeopleClaim so much for their help. We truly believe that if they had not assisted us, ANP would have continued to stall paying me. That said, as soon as we receive the final check and are able to get confirmation by the bank that ANP’s checks are good, we will consider this complaint resolved, but as of this date, it has not been resolved.
