Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On December 9,2013 I took my 71 Chevy pickup to thier shop to have engine work done. This work involved replacement of a timing chain & gears & replacement of a distributor. When I recieved a phone call that the work was completed. I paid my bill of $350.00 on two installments before recieving my vehicle. Upon picking up my truck on Dec. 23, 2013 I came upon the problem that it would not start. When I asked the mechanic why it wouldn't start he said I had other issues. This issue was not present before they started working on my truck. I had to tow my truck home cause it wouldn't start. On about Dec. 26, 2013 I called and spoke to Allen Cambell about a receipt on parts & labor to see what work was done. I was told it would be mailed to my address. On Jan. 6 2014 I spoke to Dustin Cambell at place of business to ask for my receipt and was denied, he told me he would have to talk to his Dad before I could recieve it. On Jan. 9 2014 I called and spoke to the secretary and was told if Allen said he would send a receipt he would. To this day I have not recieved any form of a reciept to show for parts & labor."

  • On Friday Jan. 24,2014 @ 1;43 pm I recieved a phone call from Dustin Cambell about me posting a claim on line, about my dispute. Dustin informed me he had talked to the other shop owner and that this owner was going to testify in court on his behalf that my truck had lots of issues. He was mad and told me in a yelling manner that it was BS for what I had done,he also said that he had my reciept to come and get it, better yet he said if I felt like I was ripped off to return my pickup and he would remove the parts he installed and refund me my money. I was also informed he was trying to run a business and didn't do work for free. During the heated conversation on his part , he also said it's the typical MEXICAN MENTALLITY to want work for FREE. If I would of wanted the work for free I would of put stop payment on the checks after I discovered my truck wouldn't start. So after about 5 min. I hung up on him because this conversation wasn't going anywhere. I then called the shop where my truck is at presently , and talked to the owner. He told me that Dustin had not any conversation with him. So I made the de cision not to go to Allen's Automotive at 412 east Olive in Lamar,Co to get my reciept due to the heated conversation on the phone. If he has my reciept like he said he did, then I would think a 49 cent stamp to mail my reciept is not to much to ask for , since I was told over a month ago by Allen Cambell he would mail me one.
