Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I am requesting a refund taken monies taken out of my banking account without my knowledge, consent or permission by ACE(American Insurance Company P. O. Box96, Minneapolis, Mn 55440-0096. As I understand, my now deceased spouse,Peter Clifton Dancy took out Disaster Mortgage Protection Policy Number 2311855 sometime between 1995-1999. I was never aware of this policy until Jan 2014. It was at that time that I received a letter from ACE,(dated Dec 2014)requesting that my spouse register his account on their website(www.insadm.com). My spouse passed away on 15 November 2007. My spouses' name was officially removed from all of our joint accounts including checking, savings, mortgage, loans, etc. However, ACE continued to received direct payments from my banking account without my consent or knowledge. When I learned about this matter in Jan 2014 and brought this to their attention, I received refund (1. check # 210172 dated 2/26/2014) from ACE made payable only to my deceased spouse in the amount of $13.30. I discussed this matter with their Customer Service @888-475-8995 and my Case # ACEL 14-03-007. I was unable to cash the check received as it was made payable only to my deceased spouse. Each time I talked with Customer Service I was sent another check for $13.30 made payable only to my spouse (2. check #210768 dated 3/26/2014 and 3. check # 212534 dated 4/30/2014).

I referred my case the BBB, Hiram, Ga 30141 14 May 14 Case # 2311855. My case was referred to the BBB New York, NY Case # 10062079 because the agency involved is located in that area. I received an email from Mr. Hassan (phone212-358-8023) today advising that the ACE Agency failed to reply and therefore my case was closed.

I got your information from the email that I received from BBB New York which stated you as an addition resource to pursue my concern.

Update July 2 2014

Upon receipt of my mail this evening, I found three checks numbers 213593, 213594 and 213595 each in the amount of $13.30. Each check was made payable to me rather than my deceased spouse as all checks had been made payable only to him in the past. This further confused me because I was told that payments to Ace that were deducted from my bank account was done on a monthly basis for $13.30. If that was the case, why are there three refund checks involved here from the time that I became aware of this account and put a stop in place? It should not and did not three months as I told for action here. Or is the other explanation that the policy was $13.30 per week? I again request a full explanation and reimbursement for all funds deducted from my account after the demise of my spouse who singularly had this agreement with Ace.

Update July 16

I would like a reply or if possible speak with the ACE Representative regarding my concern.

Update July 17

I received yet another check yesterday dated 7/3/2014 in the amount of $13.30. Check # 213811 was made payable to me. This confused me even more and resulted in even more questions. I have not cashed any of the checks as I prefer a lump sum of the funds taken out of my account since November 2007 when my spouse passed away."
