Statement of Claim
"On June 27, 2013 I requested tire service on the Florida Turnpike recommended by a Florida State Trooper near the Yehaw Junction Exit, mile marker 193.5. I was advised of the costs and if their Driver needed to go to the next Service Plaza to turn around there would be an additional charge of $ 46.00 to turn around and head south on the Turnpike. After the service was performed I left the location of the repair and proceeded north to the next mile marker and pulled off the roadway to the shoulder. I waited a few minutes to verify that the Service Technician also came north to proceed to the next Service Plaza. Within a few minutes I observed the Technician using the Emergency Turn Around proceeding southward. Numerous callas were made to Alan of the Company as early as June 27, 2013, the same day as the Service with my Complaint. He advised he needed to talk to the Owner and get back to me. I think I have waited long enough for an answer. Messages were left on Alans telephone number, 321 433-9996; usually the mailbox was full. I have been misled and overcharged by the Service Technician but not sure if it is more than the known $ 46.00 charge. This Company does provide the only Service on the Turnpike as revealed by the
Florida State Trooper. I wonder how many other Customers have been overcharged for the Services of National Tire & Truck Repair, Inc. PO Box 220 Cocoa, FL 32923 on the Florida Turnpike. The Service kept the Repair Order #13908 out of sight until he gave it to me at approximately 6:34 a.m. and also required signatures before beginning to work on my Trailer. I have been ripped off without further explanation or the courtesy of a return telephone call from Alan or the Owner of the Company. I would like to settle the overcharges on the Service Call on 06-27-2013."

  • Nov 25, 2013, Claiming party added:
  • Your service rep required me to sign the repair work order when he arrived on sight. Your Dispatcher advise me if the additional charges of driving to Canoe Creek Service Plaza at $ 40.00. That is my complaint not cutting the metal from the tire bead off the rim; your Service Rep did not cut the tire off the rim. He did not go to Cable Creek Service Plaza for the additional charge on the repair order as advised by your Dispatcher. I pulled off the Turnpike and watched him use the emergency turn around to proceed Southbound on the Turnpike which is a charge for a process that your Service Rep did not perform. My dissatisfaction is misreprepresentation of the chargeof the Canoe Creek Plaza trip that did not ocurr and I did not sign for repair work upon completion but before he departed his truck to begin the work. I had to wait for him to be sure my VISA Debit card was approved. my Bank would not stop the payment to you but advised me if it was a VISA Credit Card you would not have been paid! I still have been ripped off and we are not finished with this claim with your denial from this repair service.

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • I disagree with the explanation / grounds provided

"Customer was quoted prices including the fact that if he was not at the 193, then the charge would be 181.00 instead of 139.50. He was charged for an additional half hour which is 46.00 to cut the tire off which was wrapped around the axle. We could not have quoted for cutting the tire off of the axle since we had no way to know until we got on site. As for not seeing the invoice, the customer has to sign the invoice in order to authorize the work to be done. "
