Claimant says:
"On 09/08/2015 my brother and I hired Trident case company of California to build a proto type
of a cell phone lighter case that I have a utility patent on.
We were quoted a price of $10,000.00 to build a fully working proto type.
We paid $5,000.00 up front and $5,000.00 when it was suppose to be finished.
As written in Tridents contract we were suppose to be able to pick up the proto type
and all the parts list and files that would be needed to have a company to manufacture the product.
In January, we flew down to California to pick up the proto type. the CEO of Trident case co.
had a meeting with us and stated that he wanted to exhibit the proto type in the 2016 C.E.S. show on Jan 6th. to the 9th. We agreed to go along with it .
The C.E.O. (Lip Yow) also stated that he would send us passes to enter the show when it was
going on in Las Vegas NV.
When we got to the Electronics show, there were no passes, Trident did not have the lighter case on display in their booth.
They also avoided us when we tried to contact them . They were not at the show when we arrived.
We then decided to stay into the following week to pick up the proto type and the necessary
paper work. When we got to Trident case company ( 4 hrs. drive from Las Vegas ) the secretary
told us that Lip Yow was not there .
I then told her that we were not leaving until we had the proto type and the necessary paper work that we paid for.
After saying that, the CEO called us up stairs to his office to talk. (Lip was there all the time.)
He gave us the proto type and a zip drive that was suppose to contain all of the necessary information that would be needed to manufacture the lighter case.
When we got home, we opened the zip drive and found that it was lacking PCB Gerber files,
parts list ,material specifications ,schematics and circuit board parts list that was written in their own contract.
We also found that the proto type dis charged the phone battery instead of charging it .
This was all contrary to the contract we signed.
We have called them numerous times without reply .
Finally I did reach them on February 19th. and was told that they are going to try to provide us
with a working proto type and the necessary files as agreed upon in the contract. Today is February 22, 2016, 5 months after securing Trident to provide a working proto type and still no working proto type!
We need help in resolving this mater."
