Claimant says:
"I, KENDRA SMITH, PUCHASED A WASHER AND DRYER FROM BADCOCK FUNITURE ON 9-25-11. THE ITEMS WERE MARKED $999.00 WHEN THE ORIGINAL PRICE WAS $3,000.00. I ASKED LYNN, THE SALES PERSON WHY WERE THEY MARKED SO LOW? LYNN RESPONDED WE, BADCOCK ARE JUST TRYING TO GET RID OF THE ITEMS BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN SITTING ON THE FLOOR FOR SO LONG. THESE ITEMS WERE SPOKEN TO BE BRAND NEW ITEMS, BUT APPARENTLY THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN USED. ON 5-23-12 THE DRYER WAS REPAIRED BY WHIRLPOOL, AND THE MAINTANENCE REPAIR GUY HAD TO REPLACE A HEATING ELEMENT IN THE DRYER, WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A NEED TO REPLACE THIS SOON. ALSO,THE REPAIR GUY BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION RUST ON BOTTOM PANEL OF THE DRYER, FOUR OF THE FEET ON THE DRYER ARE MISSING, THE BRACKETS ON THE FRONT OF THE DRYER ARE BUSTED AND THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE UNLESS THE FRONT FACE OF THE DRYER HAD BEEN REMOVED. I HAVE ALREADY SPOKEN WITH WHIRLPOOL AND THE RESPONSE FROM THEM AS STATED, THE DRYER AND WASHER NO LONGER HAD WARRANTY DUE TO THE AGE WHICH IS 2007,AND THE WARRANTY RAN OUT IN 2008. I WAS ALSO TOLD UPON THAT IF WHIRLPOOL HAD REALIZED THE DATE OF THE DRYER BEFORE THEY REPAIRED IT THEN I WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY THE EXPENSES FOR THE REPAIRS MYSELF. THEREFORE, MY CONCERN IS THAT IF THE WASHER STOPS WORKING THEN THAT EXPENSE WOULD BE MY RESPOSIBILTY TO TAKE CARE OF, BECAUSE THE WASHER IS ACTING LIIKE ITS ALSO READY FOR REPAIRS. I AM VERY UNSATISFIED WITH THE FALSIFIED INFORMATION THAT BADCOCK RELATED TO ME CONCERNING MY WASHER AND DRYER. I FEEL THAT BADCOCK SHOULD HAVE GIVEN ME, KENDRA SMITH, THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY YES OR NO DUE TO THE ITEMS ALREADY BEING USED BY SOMEONE ELSE. THERE IS NO WAY THESE ITEMS COULD HAVE RUSTED OUT OR A HEATING ELEMENT GOING BAD THAT QUICKLY WITHOUT HAVING BEEN USED.
