"Hollis’ allegations are grossly false. Hollis ordered a pre-fabricated metal building from International Buildings on or about June 24, 2014. At the time of purchase, Hollis was provided factory drawings and was instructed to immediately provide those drawings to the appropriate zoning authorities that governed his erection location in order to verify that those blueprints were sufficient and that no additional custom plans would be required by him to obtain his permit. This is standard protocol for every building consultant that assists a customer. The reason a building consultant tells each customer to immediately provide his/her blueprint to the building department and obtain a permit is because numerous cities and/or counties in the United States require additional blueprints, stamps, calculations, concrete drawings, etc… in order for a customer to obtain his/her permit.
Hollis failed to take the necessary steps explained to him by International Buildings. In fact, Hollis took delivery of his building approximately 2 months after placing his order and without obtaining a permit. As a matter of fact, Hollis waited to contact the building department and obtain his permit for a period of time of approximately 6 months from the date his order was placed (approximately 4 months after his building was delivered). It was at the time that Hollis tried to obtain his permit (6 months after being informed to apply for his permit by International Buildings, which he procrastinated and failed to do) that he realized his city/county required additional custom blueprints that were not originally part of his order, as he did not pay for them.
Upon realizing that he needed additional custom engineering that he did not receive because he did not pay for it, Hollis contacted a customer service representative from International Buildings and demanded them for free. The customer service representative explained to Hollis that the additional blueprints he was requesting were not originally drafted and stamped by International Buildings and informed Hollis that a third party engineer would need to be hired to provide him with the custom engineering he needs to obtain his permit. Hollis was told that the original engineering was not provided to him because it was not part of his order and that he therefore did not pay for it. He was further told that the cost for those custom blueprints was $750. Hollis became extremely threatening and verbally abusive to the International Buildings representative calling him a “chicken shit” hiding behind a “chicken shit company.” Hollis further stated that he will come to our corporate headquarters and “fuck someone up” if he didn’t get those blueprints for free. The International Buildings customer service representative repeatedly apologized to Hollis and tried to calm Hollis down but it was apparent that Hollis might have some mental instability and became even more irate, even more aggressive, and even more abusive and threatening. Hollis began screaming louder and louder, swearing at and threatening and berating the International Buildings customer service representative to such an unimaginable measure that a manger disconnected the call.
At this point in time, we prefer to not engage in any further business with Hollis and recommend that Hollis seek the engineering from an alternate source. Hollis will not be issued a refund of any amount, as he received exactly what he ordered.
