Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"We applied for a loan modification with Wells Fargo in 2011 and during the initial processs while speaking with one of their representative I was asked if i was black. He was very eager to help me and when i said yes he was no longer interested in helping me and i was transferred to someone. The end result was that our loan was modified even though springboard recommended that our interest rate be reduced to 5%. Our interest rate was not reduced but all the arrears was added to the end of our loan and the interest rate was kept at 7%. We have been applying for modification from Wells Fargo for five years and have always been denied. The only positive result we received on a modification was with hope now in 2008 were our interest rate was reduced for 9% to 7%. This process with Wells fargo has been very stressful and we have have given up on pursuing any modification attempts with Wells Fargo, we have been relying on payday loans to keep up our mortgage payments, which they are quite aware of since they as for three months of bank statements for their qualification process. I finally told one of their representative that Wells Fargo does not do modifications for black people when i was asked why our interest rate is so high. I hope you can help us with this complaint because i have completely given up."

  • Oct 03, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • consistent with the instructions I received from wells fargo on 9-14-2012, I executed and faxed to wells fargo the reqired authorization to release information form on that date. Shortly thereafter I received a letter from wells fargo indicating that I needed to provide a "power of attorney" so that people claim would be allowed to work on my case with wells fargo. Well, at this point I need the appropriate power of attorney form (acceptable to wells fargo) so that I can sign and fax to wells fargo to assure that this matter proceeds without further delay.

  • Oct 03, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • By way of letter you have indicated that you require me to execute a power of attorney form before you will discuss my case with peopleclaim. So as to assure that your requirements are met it is requested that you provide me with the power of attorney form which is acceptable to you for all purposes related to peopleclaim's role in assisting me with this matter. Short of your compliance with this request I fear we will be faced with yet more delays in resolving this a simple matter.
