Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I contracted with Direct TV in October for phone internet and TV for their advertised price of 89.99. I recieved a bill from verizon in November for 61.00. I contacted Verizon and explained that my bill should be 89.99 and asked what I should do. The customer service person looked up my account and said that Direct TV never bundled the account and she would take care of it. She said this was an on going problem with Direct TV. She told me to pay the bill and the following month I would receive the correct billing. This month my bill was 139.00. I contacted verizon and was told that I could not be on the 89.99 plan any more because it was not available and when I called the new plan was 107.00. I called Direct TV again and was told they have nothing to do with Verizon (two different companies) and I would have to deal with them. I asked how this could be possible since I contracted with them for the 89.99 price. Both verizon and Direct tv insuated that this was some how my fault because I called to question the 61.00 bill. Direct Tv (Gabriella) told me Direct TV did bundle my account on November 15,2011. Someone didn't do their job and it wasn't me! Tried to explain to all the people I spoke with that certainly as a customer I am not aware of how they interact with each other and who has responsibilty for what transaction. I was given a price and that should be honored. My direct TV account # is 82092582 and my verizon account #is 609-641-2420 338 56Y. When the customer service peron did bundle the account she made no mention of the fact that the 89.99 plan was no longer an option. Another annoying problem was verizon would not allow me to keep my old phone # and gave me a number that was still active with another individual. That person (Phil Ueker) was in charge of Toys for Tots in this area so my phone rang off the hook with toys for tots questions. I was an administrative Assistant in Customer service for Prudential Insurance and believe me when I tell you this would not have been handled in this manner. I could not explain to anyone I spoke with that I was the customer who contracted with them for 89.99 and whatever happened to change this was certainly not my doing or my probem"
