Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Our mail was stopped with no notice. The postal carrier claimed that a dog came around the fence area and frightened the mail carrier. That is what animal control told us.

However, for whatever reason more than likely a power trip the young lady that claims to be the "Postmaster" refuses to bring our mail unless we move mailboxes that are on a post set in cement to the end of our property line. We are handicapped senior citizens on a budget; we cannot move the mailboxes ourselves nor can we afford to pay someone to do it. The part that to us is wrong is the lies this carrier and her manager is telling. They claim without evidence or proof and not backed by the animal control that "the dog" attacked the lady, ripped the carrier bag, tore her shirt. They showed no proof to the animal control man. We don't even know that "the dog" was our dog, which was inside our home when the incident supposedly occured.

Our property is both fenced and cross fenced by chain link and a 7 foot wooden fence. Even if a board was loose on the wood fence, the dog could not squeeze through it. They are very small planks. I do not believe it is legal to hold a person's mail hostage to force you to do an employee of the the post office's demands. Monies, federal and state government mail comes to the boxes. Our daughter lives in the house directly behind us and this has affected her mail also.

Let us make it clear our dog is vaccinated, licensed, he goes routinely to the vet and to the groomers and there has never been a problem. We want to expose these people as this could happen to anyone.
