Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I used them to move me out of a storage 10 x10 unit into a house. They damage, broke and destroyed so many things. I had them finally just empty the truck into my garage as they were so careless with the walls and furniture. I have photos of all the damages , contacted Jennifer and she promised to make monitory reimbursement for the damages by the end of sept. Now she won’t respond to my calls."

Message from Universal Moving And Packing: Our customer had previously old damaged furniture in a storage unit and also a studio apartment. We pointed out that several of her items were either scratched and or chipped before we moved them. She told us she already was aware of the damaged furniture. She only initially got upset that after getting permission to disassemble a side table to her barbeque it leaned in a way that made her think it was damaged. We explained that the barbeque was not damaged. We needed the space to fit it in the moving truck. Once we reassembled the BBQ it was fine. Several days later she claimed it didn't work. We didn't touch the burner, gas lines or temperature knobs. My wife told Debbie that she would contact our insurance, but I don't have insurance as advertised My ad explicitly says we aren't insured or bonded and the customer must take full responsibility for any damage. Debbie then made new claims 2 weeks later saying we also damaged several pieces of furniture. This person had not been honest about the condition of her belongings being damaged before we moved for her. We never claimed to be professional movers although we have several years experience and we have great reviews based on our previous work. We know that we did a very professional, safe move. We were careful, respectful and fate. I even gave her a free hour plus I didn't charge her the gas and supply fee. Debbie had her entire move paid for by a friend and instead of being grateful she decided that she would make a false insurance claim to make money because she thought we were a big moving company with lots of money. Sad.
