Claimant says:
"I was paying for a professional job to paint and do some carpentry work to the front of my house and decks. The front of the house is cedar shingles that originally had a dark brown paint on it. I sanded off most of it during the summer, but ran out of time before I had to go back to working full-time. I wanted someone to either sand the rest of the paint off or replace the shingles. This is what I wanted a professional for, I could have done what Marc and his workers did on my own. All they did was paint it. When I mentioned to Marc that I wasn't happy with it he said he would come over and look. I had to point out to him a bunch of spots that they just missed painting, I feel I could have done better myself. A couple of the shingles that they tried to get the paint off of they didn't even use a sander, they used a filer and gauged the shingles. They also were suppose to replace some shingles and didn't, when I asked they said they thought I would want to leave it that way for character. Then when I said that they didn't sand the paint off the shingles Marc said that it wasn't possible. I know it's possible since I sanded off about 95% of the paint myself. They also put trim up on one side of the front of the house and for some reason wondered why I would want the same thing on the other side. I feel he shouldn't have agreed to do the job if he wasn't capable of doing it correctly. I feel it was a totally unprofessional job. I am going to have to get another painter here next spring to do the job the way I want. The total bill was originally supposed to be $3108.50, I have given them $2500.00. I feel the job they did isn't even worth that. They are asking me to pay off more than the original total balance, and in my opinion they didn't complete what I was asking for. I can not believe that they have sent me a letter threatening to take me to a small claims court over this at this point. They are asking me to pay a balance of $757.50. I am not asking for any of my money back, but feel the job that they did isn't even worth what I have already paid them."
