Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Unfortunately I had a very disappointing experience w/The Mail Stop & Michele regarding a package sent FedEx from her store, which was damaged in shipping & returned. I brought in a package containing family gifts I wanted to send FedEx. I completed the shipping form & indicated I wanted to insure it for $100. Since the gift was a surprise to my family & Michele uses her name & company as shipper, upon receipt they had no idea the package was from me, heard broken glass inside & refused delivery.

I contacted Michele to let her know I would pick it up & found out that she had taken it upon herself to call my brother about the package because she said she misplaced the form I completed - the package was a surprise gift. Michele opened my package upon return to her store, & completed the FedEx claim form for damages, so it was paid to her. I picked up my package & she mailed me the $100 check.

It wasn't until after I had repackaged the 24' x 20" collage frame w/the foam/gel motorcycle seat pad & paid for it to be sent FedEx again, that I realized I had not been reimbursed for the original $28 shipping fees. Michele denied they were due to me - she said they went to her to pay FedEx. I should not pay twice since the claim covered fees too. Michele remarked that she had to be concerned about her bills & she even went so far as to say the things I had in the package were not worth the $100 I received!

She keeps the $28 shipping fees I paid & should be reimbursed because she "thinks" I got more than I needed with the $100?? OMG!! She even tried to make me believe that she had to PAY for the FEDEX package RETURN - NOT SO!!

In summary, I too in a package containing gifts to be sent FedEx. I completed the form, paid $28 to ship the package FedEx and had insurance on it for $100. During shipping, the contents of the package was damaged. Michele submitted the claim for reimbursement of the insured amount & the FedEx shipping fees. Michele paid me the $100 but not the shipping fees, which I am due!!!"
