Claimant says:
"Received a quote to resurface and install loam on 9700 sq. ft. to depth of 3 inches (90 cu. yds.); hydro seed with fertilizer application through fall and final fall cleanup at $5,375.00. Paid 50% down ($2,687.50) on April 14, 2016. Twenty days later, 2 men arrived and spent 4 hours removing only parts of existing surface. After another week, 52 cu. yds. loam were delivered over 3 days and a 3-person crew spent 4 hours spreading loam on May 13, 2016. Hydro seeding never took place. I was left with only 58% of loam quoted, spread unevenly with many uneven thin spots, damaged trees (done by rented Bobcat), and no grass. Another 2 weeks of delays led to existing crabgrass growing in patches and mostly bare spots. Requested a modest refund of $725.00 for work undone and cancelled remaining quoted work. Submitted claim with New Hampshire Attorney General Office of Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau on June 6, 2016. As of October 18,2016, Mr. Plante continues to lie and delay with no resolution."

  • What was the quoted cost and amount of loam? How was the contract worded? Was it divided into specific jobs to be done by certain dates?

    Grounds Guys Landscaping LLC sounds totally incompetent: it's ridiculous to let crabgrass start growing because you can't get the hydroseeding done. They were probably waiting for the rest of the loam....what was the delay there?
