Claimant says:
"I originally hired a dealer of SunPower to do a solar installation on my home. In hindsight, the dealer was incompetent and after 12 months the system had been installed improperly & not functioning. After another 6 months and multiple attempts by various SunPower representatives, agents and subs to resolve, the company decided to handle the issues with their own dealer/distributor. Essentially, my roof was leaking from misplaced holes, tiles were broken and the system would not produce anything close to the 85% contractual guaranteed amount of power. The system was removed, roof patched and tile removed. A new roof that didn't match the original was put in place prior to reconfiguring the panels back on the roof. After another six (6) months, the system was only partially effective. The $218./month SunPower lease payments were being drawn from my account as I continued to make $300./month SC Edison progress payments. I have been told by SunPower VP, Trevor Williams that (now. 2 1/2 years into a normal 3 month project) they may be willing to make some sort of retribution "adjustment". However, after multiple attempts to contact the company, still no return calls. Bottom line, I was expecting "net" power usage costs of $218. (Lease) + $20.-40./mo. Edison or about $250./mo. S.C. Edison provided year over year "net" usage to support their $4,000./annual bill. Hence, my actual cost was $500. /mo. , let alone the long, drawn out aggravation of a substandard SunPower installation. Setting all stress, leaky roof (interior home damage never addressed) and the constant comedy of errors aside, SunPower owes me at least $4,500. In hard cash reimbursement."
