Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"They misrepresented the deal on a new vehicle I leased from them. I originally wanted to buy a car from them but they said it was better to lease it. They said I would need $7000 down as the car had extra equipment in it. They took this car and sold it to Southeast Toyota Finance for $36,195 when its list price was only $35,500. This was not really known to me. I probably could have purchased the car for $33,000. Now here is one good part with the down payment and the 36 monthly payments it would cost me $16,293 for a 3 year lease. And if I wanted to get out of the lease it would cost me $16,293 dollars with no vehicle ownership. Now it gets even better if I wanted to purchase the vehicle at lease end or right now after 2 months it would cost me another $23,000 for a total of $39,293 for a $35,500 car. One more thing the Dealer Manager Ben Brown told me if they were to buy the car from me they would give me$28,000 today but the payoff with the leasing company would be $29,831 Making my total loss $8,831 for having this car for just shy of two months. This is total unfair treatment to give anyone let alone a many time repeat customer. So Sparks will stand to make another $2000 to $4000 on this deal. As far as I am concerned this type of sales has been going on for too long. As far as Sparks Toyota representatives told me that this was a fair offer for my car."
