Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"After Hurricane Irma my condo association hired servpro to dry out all the condos. I went to see and take my own moisture reading and pictures, I found that there was only indication of moisture in a small area around the air conditioner. I spoke to the person in charge from servpro ( Sam) and was told that they were not going into my building since it was not necessary.  2 days later i received a bill for work done and paid for by the association for $1492.04   All they did was remove two 3 foot runnig boards . When I checked for moisture today i still get the same reading from my meter around the air conditioner. This is worse than price gouging, it is a rip off.

    Please keep in mind that we do not have a contractual agreement with you in regards to the matter you have commented on.

    We were hired by the Property Manager to perform mitigation work at the Estero Beach and Tennis Club following damage to the building from Hurricane Irma. Our contract with them was for labor, material, and rental of drying equipment needed to stabilize wet areas of the building and prevent secondary damages. Said work was performed after inspecting all affected areas with a member of their maintenance team present.

    All inspections as noted above were performed with at least one member of the associations team and a Certified Water Technician using the industries most accurate moisture detection equipment. No work was ever performed until it was noted as wet by the inspection team.

    With that in mind we invoiced the Estero Property Manager in accordance with the negotiated line item pricing we agreed to in our contract with them.

  • Thank you for responding, I am aware that the agreement is between Servpro and the EBT association and I also understand that you examined my condo for moisture. The point that i have been trying to get across to servpro from the beginning is that there is an area which shows a false reading of moisture in my condo. This is a small area near the a/c unit, I documented this before. I also explained this to Sam who was on site , I asked that he come with me for one minute so I could show him personally. He told me that he had orders not to enter building A since it was drying off. He said that Ned from maintenance would check on the a/c issues. Have Sam call me ,I'm sure he remembers me. I sent you a couple of pictures as well , one of which shows the moisture reading as high ,even though you dried it last week. This flaw could cause a error in judgement , I'm not insinuating that they knew and
    deliberately misled . Even though it is a 2 hour drive from my home to the condo , I would be willing to drive there any time to show you the area in
    question. I replaced the two small pieces of base molding that servpro charged $600 labor to remove . All that that I'm asking is for you to do the right thing .

    You are not our customer and this is a very public venue you have chosen to make an inquiry regarding a customer we do actively work with. The Privacy of our Customer Information is very important. (Just as your information would be held closely if you were in fact one of our Customers).
