Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On 08/25/2010, i purchased a 2002 Ford Explorer with this company. During my negotiations woth them, i specifically asked what was wrong with the truch. I was told in confidence that there is absolutely nothing wrong with this vehicle and that the company deals with low income families to give them a chance to own their own vehicle. I was also provided with a paper that says nothing was wrong with the vehicle except to purchae is and drive home. I purchased this vehicle with $3500 and a total of $3,8125. Immediately i completed my transactions and entered into the vehicle, one of the workers informed me that i needed to purchase a tire right away due to the tire in front being worn out. As i drove away,i noticed a cracking noise in the engine, i took this vehicle to Ford dealership in southfielld where i was informed that the transmission is gone, there is a misfire in the engine, it needs wheel bearing and other repairs that may cost over $4000.00(four thousand). I immediately returned to Second chance auto to inform them of my findings and the fact that they did not tell me the truth before i purchased the vehicle. they took all my informations and stated that they will get back to me immediately their supervisor gets in the office. I waited for four days without getting any feedback from them. On 08/30/2010, i called the office and was told that the manager was speaking with the sales man and that he will call me afterwards. the manager did not return my call, i then drove to their location to try to resolve this situation. I was met y the car sales man who informed me that their is nothing they can do and that they did not have any information regarding the vehicles history before they sold it to me. I did not respond and left the car lot. It should also be noted that i have not been driving this vehicle since i found out immediately after i found out the following day after i purchased the vehicle on 8./27/2010. I am not sure what to do and how i can spend almost four thousnad dollars on a vehicle i am not able to drive. that vehicle has been sitting on my drive way since i purchased it. I was sold this vehicle under a deceptive manner because there is no way in this world that i would purchase a vehicle that i will not be able to drive. i am please seeking your assistance in resolving this issue as i have no car to drive to work. i am currently borrowing cars from family members to get around. I am a single mother who is struggling to earn aliving and i truly and strongly believe that it is absolutely wrong to get a raw deal. Please.I need your assisitance and help. thank you so much for your attention to this matter."
