Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"They did a very shoddy job of cleaning my rental home at 1388 Whitewood Deltona 32725. They said we couldnt go in and look aat the job as the floor was wet from just mopping and handed us a bill for 100 dollars for 1 hour and 50 minutes of work for 2 girls. Steve the owner never showed up to supervise or to look at it the next day when we called and complained. Ub oartucular we had asked to have the stove pulled out and cleaned behind and the grease cleaned off the kitchen floor and top of refer and stove. None of which happened.Warn people not to pay this outfit without inspecting first. Especially if they use the old we just mopped trick. This outfit should be rated SLIMEBALL OPERATIOn !!!"

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • I disagree with the explanation / grounds provided

    "An estimate for cleaning was done over the phone as Customer (Mr Haas) said he didn't have time to show us around the house. Our normal practice is to meet with customers and walk through the house, so we know exactly how long and how much the clean will be. We agreed over the phone with Mr Haas a price of $100, which he knew would buy 2 hrs cleaning by 2 girls. The girls cleaned for just over 2 hrs - this was listed on their timesheet. We have cleaned Mr Haas's own house previously, so he is aware of the rates and quality of our service, which is why he asked us to clean his rental property. Mr Haas did not want to pay more than $100, so therefore not everything he would have liked to be cleaned could be done in that time - particularly as the kitchen was very bad. We advertise that any complaints will be rectified free of charge if notified to us within 24hrs. Mr Haas did not complain about our service until 5 days later - Sunday June 15th. We feel the complaint is not justified as we cleaned for 2 hrs as agreed with Mr Haas. We also feel if Mr Haas had allowed us to see the property and carry out an accurate estimate, we could have avoided this situation."
