Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On 06/19/2013 I obtained the services of Mr. Rick Mealer to diagnose and possibly repair my refrigerator. He sent his technician, Daniel Meler out. Mr. Meler said the glass tube element and bi-metal censor had burned out. He said he had the part and quoted a cost of $350.00 to repair it. I told him to make the repair. He recorded his work, parts, and the 2 year warranty on the receipt and told me if I had any problems give them a call. On 07/16/2013 I called Mr. Mealer and told him I needed someone to look at the fridge because it was doing the same as before. He told me it may be something else but I told him it was the same problem and I needed it checked out. He said he couldn’t send anyone out because his tech was on vacation and he couldn’t get in touch with him until the next week. I told him that wouldn’t work because I had a baby that needed her milk and I already had some food spoilage again. He told me it was nothing he could do. I told him I was disappointed because I thought I had chosen a good business after my research. Our conversation ended. He called me again in about an hour to tell me he would have the tech come the next day at 8a.m. I told him I would be here. I went to work and got emergency leave to be home for the repair. The tech didn’t come at 8. I called Mr. Mealer at 10am and he told me the tech was on another call. I told him he had made my appointment for 8 and I had taken leave. He again told me it was nothing he could do. I told him I was trying to work with him but he needed to have someone come out. He said he would have the tech come within a couple of hours. Daniel came out around 6pm. He checked the fridge again and told me a wire came loose and he fixed it and I should not have any more trouble. On 07/24/2013 the fridge stopped cooling again. I had my 21 yr old Granddaughter call him today, 07/25/2013. He told her he would see what he could do and hung up. She states he never called her back. I called him when I got home at 6pm. I told him about the fridge and he said it is probably the computer in the door. I told him I didn’t know but it’s doing the same as the last two times and I just want someone out to check and fix it. He said he would not send anyone out because it’s probably the computer in the door and I need a GE tech to fix that. I asked him if he said he would not send anyone out and he said he would not. I told him o.k. I would have to deal with that. Our conversation ended at that point."
