Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I checked into hotel on June 9th at aprox. 830 pm went to my room and found it to stink, carpet wet, table upside down on bed, and fans running to dry the carpet. I returned to the office and made desk clerk aware of situation and was told the room was clean according to housekeeping. I informed them that that was not so. I was given another room which I headed for and encountered at least 10 men sitting around my door with multiple cases of beer sitting around. Not feeling safe as I am a female traveling alone I returned to the office and was told quiet time was not until pm. I was given a third room at this time which was on the back side of the hotel and all the exterior lighting was out. I made it to the room and reached inside the door to turn the light on and no light came on. I went back to the office to request someone to go get the light on for me and was told I would just have to deal with it. I became upset after all this and was told to leave or they would call the police. I told them to call the police and I was trespassed from property. After all this I informed my husband and went to another hotel. My husband contacted Choice hotel to cancel the rest of the reservations I had made for the hotel. He was informed by Choice Hotels and given a cancellation number and sent an email to show the 2nd night had been cancelled. They charged us for the 2nd night . They credited the 2nd night back to my bank on the 10th and then took it back out on the 11th. I contacted choice hotel on the 11th and advised them of this and they told me they would file a complaint and the hotel would contact me within 72 hours. I received no call from them so I called choice hotels back and they informed me that the claim was not escalated as I was told it would be. They placed me on hold to contact the hotel and I got disconnected"
