Claimant says:
"my father in law had a storage unit at on guard mini storage and he recently passed. my husband and i went to the storage to inform them that he had passed and that we were going to get into his unit with our key and we were told that was fine. we then set up our own storage unit in the same facility to store our possessions. we cleared out the 95% (if not more) of my father in laws unit but could not do more as we had run out of dump runs. we figured the rest could easily be handled by those working at the facility. i called into on guard today, august 1st 2018, to pay our fee for our unit which is $65. when i talked to the employee i was told that they had put a lock on our unit until we either paid $100 or finished emptying my father in laws unit and that we would not be able to access our unit until one or the other was done. i told her that neither i or my husband had signed anything claiming full responsibility of his unit and that we had emptied it as much as we possibly could as a courtesy more than anything. she would not allow me to make our monthly payment and began to get very rude and insulting clearly losing her temper and patience with my queries. she also threatened that because of the way i was acting she could tack on my father in laws OTHER unit costs that he shared with a friend. if she would have let me make the payment for our unit we would have been right on time, as it is however, we are being bullied into paying extra because we share the same last name as the deceased."
